Surfaces must be clean and dry, removing all traces of dust and dirt before application.
Always do a test area before staring any project to assess product suitability, adhesion and final finish. Read the manufacturers product guidance and instructions on the tin at all times.
Because Earthborn Claypaint is a natural product, there may be subtle variations in shade between batches; avoid starting a new container in the middle of a wall. If a large area is to be painted that requires several tins, if possible, pour the required number of tins into a single container and mix thoroughly.
Colours within the Earthborn Claypaint range can be inter-mixed to create a variety of colour shades and tones.
Earthborn paints must be stirred thoroughly before and periodically during use.
Surfaces should be wipeable after about 10 days. If marked, simply wipe down with a slightly damp cloth. It is also often possible to remove surface marks using a pencil eraser or very fine emery paper.
Q. Are clay paints similar to chalk paints?
A. In general, our customers say that Earthborn Clay Paint has a comparable finish to chalk paint. Customers that have used both products tend to agree that chalk paints almost always require a top coat of wax or other to seal while clay paints are considered to be more durable, therefore not requiring an additional protective top coat.
